Os explico: Se suelen utilizar con el presente perfecto.
For is used when we talk about an amount of time. (Una cantidad de tiempo).
"I've been here for a year" FOR=durante
Since is used when we talk about a point of time. (Un punto o fecha concreta en el tiempo).
"I've been here since two o'clock" SINCE=DESDE
"I've been a scientist since 2010"
